Slowcoaster will be hosting a greatest hits show at Wood Buffalo Brewing Company
on February 21st starting at 9:00 pm in support of Big Brother's Big Sisters of
Fort McMurray. Admission is by donation.
"We love performing in Fort McMurray. So many east coast people have made this community
their home. We are happy to work with the local Big Brother's Big Sisters, I think
it’s a great cause to support in this community, my mother worked for the
organization and I am happy to connect with a western office to further the good
work that they do. Our greatest hits show should be a great event to help raise
funds and friends for the local chapter," Steven MacDougall, from Slowcoaster. The
band is visiting Alberta from Cape Breton releasing their 6th album "The Girls Downtown,"
and will be performing the recordings at WBBC February 22nd at the same venue.
We are pleased to be hosting our first major event where we are bringing in a great
east coast entertainment to the people of Fort McMurray. We are pleased to host
the first of two shows for Big Brothers Big Sisters. We want to continue to show
this great region that we want to make a positive impact locally and demonstrate
to our patrons that we are community focused,"
Steven Sachse, Managing Partner for Wood Buffalo Brewing Company.
We’re extremely grateful to Slowcoaster, Wood Buffalo Brewing Company and
our community without which this event would not be possible,” says Danielle
Murgatroyd, Executive Director of Big Brothers Big Sisters Wood Buffalo. “All
funds raised from this event will help shorten our current waitlist of children
anxiously waiting for a Big Brother or Big Sister.”
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Wood Buffalo has been in Woodbuffalo since 1979, each
year we serve close to 150 children. Our organization believes every child
who needs a mentor will have a mentor.
