Job Duties
- Communicate equipment repair activities to planning & procurement
- Coordinate work with mechanical maintenance contractors
- Present innovative solutions regarding concerns for pumps repair, equipments repair, fabrication activities, welding procedures and Insulation activities in the shop, including need of tools and equipments
- Ensure that all maintenance activities in the plant shop support the business needs
- Assist in the development of the maintenance plan in the plant shop, including support to Preventative Maintenance
- Assist in the development of maintenance and planning procedures for plant shop activities
- Work with field coordinators to ensure mechanical maintenance functions in the plant shop is in sync with field requirements
- Interface with other maintenance leads, lead hands, planning groups, engineering support and contractors to ensure timely co-ordination of plant shop maintenance activities and development of ongoing improvements
- Work with planning teams to track work orders/ requests and follow up on repairs or fabrications
Qualifications
- College Diploma or Certificate program in the Trades and Heavy Industrial area from a recognized Community College and/or Journeyman Trade Certificate in Welding, Millwright and/or Fabrication
- Strong knowledge of Tooling Systems and Machines
- 10+ years of experience in heavy industry
- 5+ years of supervisory experience is required
- Experience with a computerized maintenance management system would be a definite asset
- Confidently diagnose and resolve an equipment failure or mechanical issue
- Take pride in producing high quality work with very little guidance
- Successful at working in a team to develop and implement shop improvement programs
- Exceptional communication skills
- A strong commitment to health and safety at work
