Description
The Alberta Sport Development Centre (ASDC), in partnership with Keyano College, is currently seeking an energetic and knowledgeable individual for the High Performance Team Training Specialist position with the ASDC. This is a full-time permanent position commencing June 23, 2010.
Responsibilities
The High Performance Team Training Specialist will report directly to the ASDC Coordinator and is responsible for the provision of exceptional customer service and program opportunities in the area of Team Training, Testing and Athlete Consultation for ASDC members and potential ASDC members throughout Northeastern Alberta. The primary responsibility is to ensure effective delivery of High Performance services and athlete profiling in the community of which the ASDC member is located. Duties will include, but are not limited to, the planning, designing, implementation, facilitation and evaluation of performance testing services, member goal setting sessions, coach consultations, program design and setup. The specialist will be expected to work in collaboration with the ASDC Coordinator to identify elite athletes that should take part in the Athlete Enhancement Program.
Qualifications
Ideally the candidate will have a degree in Physical Education, Kinesiology or equivalent or significant experience and designations in the industry. CPR/First Aid Certifications in Group; CEP or CPT designation or in the process of obtaining the CEP designation; Class 5 drivers license a must; ACSM, ARPA, CPRA, AFLCA, CSEP, Can-Fit Pro or other significant Fitness/Recreation Memberships would be an asset. Excellent written and oral communication skills will be required, 2 - 3 years fitness testing and sport performance experience necessary. Candidate should be very proficient with MS office and must have knowledge in the area of Fitness Testing Measurement Systems. Knowledge and experience with BSDI’s Fitness Analyst V10, Dartfish Software, Skating Treadmills and other experiences within “sport school” ideology would be considered an asset.
Salary
$52,361.00 per annum plus an attractive benefits package.
