Service Advisor
North Star Ford Lincoln requires a Service Advisor to join operations in Fort McMurray. This position is full-time shift work including some Saturdays. If you pride yourself on providing first-rate customer service and possess excellent organizational and "paper work" skills, we will provide you with an exciting opportunity.
Key duties:
Sales:
- Assists and manages customer requests for repairs and for maintenance service to ensure that the vehicle is fixed right the first time, on schedule, and that all customer's needs have been looked after.
- Writes up work orders, accurately maintaining online records, and monitors labor inventory.
- Estimates cost and completion time of repair to be done for customer.
- Meets or exceeds goals for add-on sales.
- Promptly calls customers to sell estimates for the repairs needed.
- Assists customers in identifying problems and concerns so that proper service and maintenance can be determined.
- Utilizes basic technical vehicle knowledge to develop potential cause of problems.
- Explains technical information about repair to customers.
Customer Service:
- Provides excellent customer service by listening to customer inquiries and requests, asking questions to identify service needs, and resolving customer concerns.
- Excellent customer follow-up process in order to communicate with customers on a regular basis about status of repair.
- Contacts customers to remind them of service appointments and/or when scheduled maintenance is needed.
- Promptly addresses and resolves customer concerns and service follow-up issues.
- Maintains composure and courtesy in dealing with customers and fellow employees.
- Explains the need for additional or unanticipated services and its cost to the customer.
- Provides additional vehicle information to technicians as needed.
Organizational Skills:
- Coordinates activities (parts, technicians, appointments) to ensure repair work is fixed right the first time and completed on time.
- Shifts priorities and goals as work demands change.
- Ensures that work is completed on time and as requested.
- Acts quickly to implement plans; organizes work efficiently; follows up to ensure success.
- Monitors workload (and if appropriate schedule workload) to determine amount of work that can be accommodated in Service Department (e.g., flat rate hours available to sell, specialty utilization, shop capacity…).
- Maintains an effective appointment system to verify customer problems, recommend/sell additional services and properly and accurately communicate customer concerns.
- Maintains and updates customer records and file.
- Accurately and completely fills out required documents for repair orders and other documentation.
SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
- Sales experience
- Ability to multi task in an EXTREMELY busy environment
- Past administrative duties experience
- MUST have past experince in a role that REQUIRED attention to detail & EXCELLENT following up in order for work to be completed on time
- Ensure customer satisfaction, getting results, & getting details right
- Anticipates customer needs and seeks solutions to satisfy customers,
- Shows concern for all aspects of the job no matter how small, following ethical standards set by the company, and acting in a professional manner.
- Able to handle Pressure, maintaining composure, resolving conflicts and multi-tasking.
- Able to be sensitive to time deadlines, keeping a positive and professional demeanor, analyzing all viewpoints objectively, and shifting between two or more activities while maintaining high levels of quality.
- Able to manage Complexity, focuses on planning and prioritizing, analyzing problems, and making decisions.
- Able to understand general technical areas associated with auto repair, and willingness to increase knowledge in order to ensure proper repairs.
- Valid driver’s license
