Collection Coordinator

Position Type/ Hours:
This is a temporary position working thirty-five (35) hours per week for approximately six (6) months.
Position Description: Under general supervision, ensure the collection of all receivables which are delinquent and ensure that the pertinent legislation is enforced with respect to payment.
Qualifications:
- Grade twelve (12) diploma.
- Successful completion of a Business Administration Certificate or equivalent accounting program. Preference will be given to those who have completed the first level of a professional accounting designation program.
- Successful completion of Debt Collection and Court Procedures training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Minimum of two (2) years current debt collection experience, with extensive use of spreadsheets, word processing and database application programs.
- Ability to express ideas clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing.
- Demonstrable knowledge of delinquent account collection techniques and practices.
- Ability to develop a working knowledge, interpret and apply Provincial Legislation, Bankruptcy Procedures and related Municipal By-Laws, policies and procedures.
- Ability to gather, organize and analyze data.
- Ability to deal effectively with a diverse range of people using judgment, tact and sound decision making skills, sometimes in conflict situations.
Pay / Classification Level: PL 12
Salary Range: $31.83 (Temporary Rate)
In addition to the rate of pay, we offer other attractive incentives:
- an additional bi-weekly payment of $480 which represents a cost of living
