Job Description

Labourer II – Roads Maintenance

Position Type/ Hours: This is a permanent full-time position working forty (40) hours per week.
 
Position Description: To perform a variety of manual labour with Road Maintenance Services.
 
Qualifications:
 
-          Grade ten (10) or equivalent.
-          Minimum one (1) year related experience.
-          Valid Alberta Class Five (5) Alberta Driver's License (clear driving record an asset).
-          Class Three (3) Alberta Driver's License an asset.
-          Working knowledge of proper safety procedures.
-          Basic knowledge of use and care of basic hand and power tool and safe work practices.
-          Must be medically and physically fit.
-          Must be able to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing.
-          First Aid Certificate desirable.
-          Must be willing to work outdoors in all weather conditions and in an extremely dirty environment. Potential for unsanitary conditions - immunizations strongly recommended.
-          Ability to do heavy work (i.e.: jackhammering, sign straightening and lifting).
 
Pay / Classification Level: PL 10
 
Salary Range:
 
$29.80 (Probationary Rate)
$32.59 - $34.80 (Permanent Rates)
