Skill Requirements:
- Education: Some high school
- Credentials (certificates, licences, memberships, courses, etc.): Driver's Licence (Class 1 or A), Air Brake (Z) Endorsement, Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) Certificate, WHMIS Certificate, H2S (Hydrogen Sulphide Awareness) Training
- Experience: 5 years or more
- Languages: Speak English, Read English, Write English
- Type of Trucking and Equipment: Tractor-trailer
- Type of Travel: Local
- Documentation Knowledge: Driver logbook, Bill of lading, Inspection report (pre-trip, en-route, post-trip), Maintenance and repair reports, Accident or incident reports
- Communication Equipment Experience: Cellular phone
- Weight Handling: Up to 45 kg (100 lbs)
- Specific Skills: Loading and unloading of goods, Use atlases and other trip planning aids, Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment
- Additional Skills: Mountain driving expertise, Professionalism in customer service
- Security and Safety: Driving record check (abstract), Medical exam, Drug test
- Own Tools/Equipment: Steel-toed safety boots
- Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Physically demanding
- Transportation/Travel Information: Own transportation, Own vehicle, Willing to travel overnight, Valid driver's licence
