Job Description
HEAVY DUTY MECHANIC
Fort McMurray, Alberta
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Repair equipment on site and/ or on field: fleet of cranes, graders, cats, forklifts, earth moving, heavy and light trucks.
- Remove and replace motors, transmissions, gear boxes, drive lines, brake components. Diagnose and repair electrical problems. Replace components reseal hydraulic valves, cylinders, and rebuild pumps and motors.
- Perform inspection, maintenance, and safety checks of cranes, forklifts, vehicles, aerial work platforms
- Perform paperwork, including work orders, parts orders, billings, and warranty
- Load and unload equipment for transporting, assist with the shipping and receiving of the equipment
- Communicate with customers on repair and service needs
QUALIFICATIONS
- Certification: Red Seal Journeyman HD Mechanic Certificate
- Over 5 years of mechanic experience of construction equipment repair including cranes, graders, cats, forklifts, earth moving, heavy and light trucks
- Training covering hydraulics, pneumatics, electricity, and engines
- The ability to read electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic schematics and diagrams, interpret manuals, diagnose and correct problems
- Strong communication skills dealing with customers and team members
- Physically able lift 70lbs and carry 50lbs, use a 10-lb. sledgehammer
