CRANE & HOIST OPERATOR INSTRUCTOR AIDE
C.U.P.E. - TR5
 
The Trades and Technology division at Keyano College is currently seeking an energetic, self-motivated individual to assume the duties and responsibilities of the Instructor Aide.  This is a full time permanent position commencing August 25, 2008.
 
As an Instructor Aide you will be responsible for providing instructional assistance to program instructors in facilitating students to meet their educational needs.  Duties will include assisting the instructors in the day to day delivery of instruction to the students including:
 

  • Daily maintenance and inspection of Cranes and Hoisting Equipment.
 
  • Material preparation such as assisting in the building of working models.
 
  • Parts ordering, pick-up and delivery.
 
  • Tool crib attendant responsibilities.
 
  • Housekeeping duties including keeping areas clean and safe to work.
 
  • Supervision of students during exams, etc.
 
  • Some record keeping.
 
  • Miscellaneous duties as assigned by supervisor.
 
QUALIFICATIONS: 
 
  • Grade 12 preferred with an Alberta / Inter-provincial Journeyperson Certificate as Heavy Equipment Technician, Millwright, or Automotive Service Technician. 
  • Alternately a demonstrable combination of experience and education will be considered. 
  • A clean minimum class 5 driver's license, strong organizational skill and excellent work habits with the ability to work independently or as a team member is required.  
  • Computer skills in Microsoft Office would be considered a definite asset.
 
SALARY: $63,915 per annum plus an attractive benefits package.
