• Education: Completion of college/CEGEP/vocational or technical training
• Credentials (certificates, licences, memberships, courses, etc.): Horticulturist Trade Certification, Landscape Gardener Trade Certification
• Experience: Experience an asset
• Languages: Speak English, Read English, Write English
• Work Setting: Golf course, Recreation facility
• Area of Specialization: Tree and shrub examination and treatment, Growth of ornamental plants, Landscape design, Lawn and garden maintenance, Landscape construction, Tree removal, Hedge and shrub pruning, Plant knowledge and identification, Propagation, Tree pruning
• Type of Landscaping Experience: Park and recreation sites, Golf courses
• Landscape Design Skills: Manage landscaping projects, Survey and assess designated sites
• Construction Skills: Rock gardens, Ornamental ponds, fountains and waterfalls, Irrigation systems, Retaining walls
• Additional Skills: Prepare proposals, Estimate costs, Write specifications, Plant care, Prepare contracts and tenders, Watering, Know and use computer hardware and software
