Public Works Department
This is a permanent, full-time position working forty (40) hours per week. There are three (3) positions to be filled.
Under general supervision, perform skilled journeyman level work in their respective trade.
Work involves preventative and corrective maintenance, inspections, modifications,
installation/dismantling of systems and projects within the trade.
Qualifications
- Grade twelve (12) diploma or a GED equivalent.
- Alberta or Inter-Provincial Journeyman Certification.
- Valid Alberta class five (5) driver’s license (clear driving record an asset).
- Valid First Aid Certificate (within first six (6) months of employment).
- Basic computer skills are required.
- Ability to understand and execute oral and written instructions, read blueprints, and interprets plans and specifications.
- Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and productive work relationships.
- Considerable knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions of the trade.
- Must be medically and physically able to perform all the duties of the trade on an ongoing basis and able to work in hazardous, unsanitary conditions and in all weather conditions.
Duties
Consult manufactures’ manuals to determine test and maintenance procedures.
Use pneumatic, electrical and electronic testing devices to inspect and test instrument and system operation, and diagnose faults.
Consult with and advise process operators.
Calibrate and maintain components and instruments according to manufactures’ specifications.
Install and maintain instruments, PLC, SCADA on new or existing plant equipment and processes.
Interpret and use appropriate CSA, ISA and API installation standards and practices.
Work with consultants on designs of process controls.
Train apprentices.
Salary 44.49 (Probationary)
$45.97 (Permanent)
