Financial Services Department

This is a permanent, full-time position working thirty-five (35) hours per week.

Working on broad assignments, you will be responsible for managing the administration and delivery of Procurement Services. (purchasing, accounts payable, inventory) This involves providing a full range of services to meet the needs of client departments.

The successful candidate will have a breadth of responsibilities, interesting work, and an opportunity to influence.

We invite you to consider our opportunity for a Manager, Procurement Services. 

Your specific responsibilities will include:

  • Provide the highest level of quality assurance in the bidding and award process.
  • Recommend the development, maintenance and administration of policies and procedures of the Procurement function including new and innovative ways of providing services & payments to vendors.
  • Review and investigate supplier-based or commodity-based problems taking appropriate action and providing feedback to users.
  • Direct the purchase of goods and services, monitoring of commitment/general ledger activities and advisor services.
  • Provide regular feedback regarding maintenance of automated purchasing and accounts payable systems, procedures and upgrade information.
  • Maintain positive relationships with clients, implementing best practices to meet their needs.
  • Develop and coordinate ongoing training of Procurement policies and procedures to Municipal staff.
  • Interpret and communicate policies, regulations and procedures and provide advisor services as to the application of these standards.
