Job Description
RCMP Detachment
This is a permanent, full-time position working thirty-five (35) hours per week.
With independent action, provide direct customer technical support to consult, advise, analyse, troubleshoot and solve operational problems. Install test and maintain computer equipment, printers, operating software, network peripheral, mobile data terminals, wireless communications, telephone systems and radio systems and associated applications.
Qualifications:
- Grade twelve (12) supplemented by a relevant technical computing one (1) year certificate from a recognized Community College or Technical Institute.
- Specialized training in computer software, PC operating systems, office applications such as RCMP detachment (records and dispatch systems), Microsoft Front Page and Internet applications is an asset.
- A minimum of two (2) years related experience.
- RCMP system experience is considered an asset.
- Excellent customer service skills to deal effectively with customers and the ability to
- maintain a focus on providing customer-computing services is required.
- Demonstrated knowledge of computer systems hardware and software, ability to learn, understand and apply new developments in servers, workstations, operating systems, communications hardware and software, wireless, mobile data terminals and application software. Sound troubleshooting abilities required.
- High degree of precision and accuracy in documentation. ( e.g. technical information,
- service requests, etc.)
- Organizational, interpersonal and communication skills are required.
- Knowledge of RCMP data and information management systems (PIRS, CPIC, OSR,
- PROS and CIIDS) are considered assets.
- Must have a valid Alberta Class Five (5) Driver’s License and willing to travel to rural
- areas.
- Must be physically and medically able to perform all duties of the job.
- Ability to work independently.
- Ability to acquire an RCMP security clearance is essential.
Salary $33.03 (Probationary Rate)
$36.19 – $38.77 (Permanent Rates)
