This is a permanent, full-time position working forty (40) hours per week. More than one (1) position will be filled.
Operate and perform minor maintenance on assigned heavy equipment including dump trucks and trailers, front end loaders, flusher trucks, sanders, street sweepers, and man lift truck used in year round maintenance and/or construction of streets, roads and facilities. Perform heavy manual labour for an extended period of time in various weather conditions.
Qualifications
- Grade ten (10) or equivalent.
- Minimum of one (1) year experience in the operation and minor maintenance of related heavy equipment and trucks.
- Preference will be given to Front End Loader experience.
- Considerable knowledge of safety precautions, procedures, methods, and techniques employed in the trucking and heavy equipment industry.
- Ability to do heavy work (i.e. jack hammering, lifting, sign straightening) on an ongoing bases in all weather conditions.
- Valid Alberta class three (3) driver’s license (clear driving record an asset).
- Must be able to communicate orally and in writing.
- First Aid Certificate and a Defensive Driving Course must be successfully completed within twelve (12) months of date of hire.
- Must be willing to work outdoors in all weather conditions and in a dirty environment.
- Must be medically and physically able to perform all the duties of the job on an ongoing basis.

Salary $27.03 (Probationary rate)
$29.56 – 31.56 (Permanent rates)
