Public Works Department
This is a permanent, full-time position working an eight (8), ten (10), or twelve (12) hour rotating shift.
Under general supervision, operate a water and/or wastewater facility to ensure compliance with the Canadian Drinking Water Standards, and Federal & Provincial regulations.
Qualifications:
- Grade twelve (12) or GED equivalency.
- Valid Alberta Environment Level Three (3), or higher, Water Treatment unrestricted certification.
- Valid class five (5) Alberta driver’s license (clean driving record an asset).
- Valid First Aid Certificate (or obtain within six (6) months of employment).
- Able to understand and execute oral and written instructions, read blueprints, and interpret plans and specifications.
- Able to establish and maintain cooperative and productive working relationships.
- Willing to work in unsanitary environments, in all weather conditions.
- Able to work in confined spaces, around high voltage equipment, and be knowledgeable in the handling of hazardous chemicals.
- Must be medically and physically able to perform all of the duties of this position on an ongoing basis.
Salary $35.37 per hour – 90% of Level 3, Alberta Environment Water Treatment
Certification
$39.30 per hour – 100% Level 4, Alberta Environment Water Treatment
Certification
**Percentage’s based on Wastewater/Water Treatment Technician Rate - $39.30 per hour. Rate has been adjusted to reflect market conditions**
