Job Description

Position Summary
 
Has financial and operational responsibility for assigned projects in the region including technical and contractual activities.  Participates in the formulation of regional maintenance policies and directs implementation of maintenance policies and programs for client sites.   Responsible for the successful completion of all maintenance site and regional office support activities. 
 
Core Responsibilities

  • Responsible for thorough knowledge of safety policies and procedures and implementation of the operational HSE program.
  • Based on general policies and management guidance, provides direction to experienced site managers who exercise significant latitude and independence in their assignments.
  • Ensures assigned projects are staffed with qualified salaried and craft personnel.
  • Oversees development of site business plans, monitors status of site continuous improvement and stewardship plans and ensures projects adhere to the Project Absolutes.
  • Functions as an advisor to site management regarding tasks, projects, and operations but becomes actively involved in daily operations when required to meet schedules or to resolve complex problems.
  • Ensures projects are administered in accordance with cost, schedule, safety, and other project controls.
  • Approves salaried rate changes; reviews craft wage rate changes annually with owner.
  • Performs annual review of contracts and negotiates any change orders required.
  • Responsible to effectively transition new projects and conduct expectation surveys and client surveys.
  • Responsible to conduct site audits related to the effectiveness in implementing transition plans, project absolutes and site business plans.
  • Establishes and maintains day-to-day communications and close working relationship with client representative to ensure owner satisfaction.
  • Coordinates with Operations / Functional Support groups to provide necessary systems, processes, standards and resources required to support project sites.
  • Through Engineering Manager provides technical support to maintenance, sustaining capital projects and turnarounds as required.
  • Participates in business development activities; identify business growth opportunities, assists in preparation of sales proposals, estimates, technical evaluations, and budgets.
Qualifications
 
Training and Experience  
  • Minimum of  15 years experience in maintenance and construction activities working with a multi disciplined workforce in the Oil & Gas and Petrochemical Industries in both Onshore and Offshore Projects
  • Minimum of 10 years experience in increasing levels of operational management on field construction/maintenance sites.
  • Thorough knowledge of all field engineering disciplines, maintenance and construction technologies and project management.
  • A recognized degree in an engineering or scientific discipline OR
  • Specialized courses in maintenance, construction and/or project management
  • Extensive actual work experience leading to a thorough understanding of the activities described above.
