Role and Responsibilities

  • Actively pursue potential customers for the hotel through sourcing new business and building on current relationships. This includes leading action plans, prospecting, direct sales calls and site visitations.
  • Ensure the Sales processes are efficient and exceed our customers expectations from inquiry stage to the post event follow up.
  • Prepare proposals and presentations, and handle rate negotiations to meet the needs of both client and hotel.
  • Provides direction, leadership, support and coaching to sales and catering team to achieve professional and organizational goals.
  • Champions the sales department incentive programs to stimulate productivity and establish measurable standards of performance
  • Identify and analyze marketing/sales needs and develops effective short and long term strategies to meet changing needs of the hotel and the surrounding business environment
  • Be passionately curious about sourcing new opportunities of where and when we can grow our revenues.
  • Prepare monthly action plans and conduct a monthly review of activity plans and key accounts.
  • Attend business networking, tradeshows and sales missions to generate new customers
  • Coordinate the client's needs to ensure they are being met.
  • Prepares and presents revenue plan/budget
  • Hotel team player able to provide positive reinforcement and feedback; able to communicate effectively with alternative departments within the hotel including but not limited to: banquets, Revenue Management and Front Desk
  • Attend and assist hotel functions when needed.
  • Pitch in and assist other team members to achieve the team goals and incentives.
Qualifications:
  • College degree in Hotel Management/Business Administration an asset
  • 3 years in Hotel Sales experience
  • Strong leadership skills with a small team
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Familiarity with Delphi is an asset
  • Computer skills including: Microsoft Word, Excel, Delphi and/or related catering/sales program
