Role and Responsibilities
- Under general supervision, provide short/long term planning and direct contractors to ensure cost, quantity and quality control for all fleet programs, preventative maintenance and asset management in accordance with Municipal policies and Provincial regulations.
- Ensure that all Fleet vehicles and Equipment are operated in a safe efficient manner and that the Municipality’s safety programs and practices are strictly adhered to.
- Ensure billing is accurate and reflective of work completed.
- Ensure that the Municipal Fleet Vehicle Repair Contractor provides necessary and quality mechanical repairs.
Qualifications
- Alberta or Interprovincial Red Seal Journeyman Heavy Equipment Technician Certificate.
- Valid Alberta Class Three (3) Driver’s License.
- Minimum of four (4) years progressively responsible experience in the daily administration of fleet management services; in a multi-faceted, mechanical maintenance, technical service delivery environment working with a large and diversified fleet of vehicles and equipment combined with a minimum of one (1) year supervisory experience.
You will possess the following:
- Proven experience with computers, Microsoft Word and Excel, and the ability to learn and maintain a computerized maintenance management system.
- Experience with Microsoft Project.
- Valid First Aid CPR Level A Certificate.
- Proven analytical, communications, leadership, interpersonal, planning and problem solving skills.
- Proven ability to formalize, prepare and present technical and statistical reports.
- Ability to develop short and long term plans based on statistical data, city growth projections and technological changes.
- Will be required to work in all weather conditions and occasionally unsanitary conditions therefore immunizations are strongly recommended.
- Must be medically and physically able to perform all of the duties of the position.
Salary/ Benefits & Compensation
Pay / Classification Level: PL 20
Salary Range:
- $44.93 (2012 Probationary Rate)
- $49.32 – $52.96 (2012 Permanent Rates)
