The Position
 
As an integral member of the Executive Management Team, reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the HR Manager plays a critical leadership role in planning, implementing and evaluating Human Resources Services which support the organization’s goals and objectives.
 
Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Providing leadership to the ACFN Business Group regarding HR role, service and delivery
  • Delivering leadership and counsel in the development of the organizational design, including position and the organizational structure
  • Overseeing the development and management of the HR Policies & Procedures, organizational development strategies and plans, recruitment/ retention, succession strategies and five (5) year human resource plan
  • Providing leadership in the development and management of HR Department to include:
    • Direct Compensation
    • Indirect Compensation, including Group Insurance Benefits
    • Leadership development and delivery of Employee Performance Management Programs
    • Management, Supervisory and Employee Training and Development
    • Teambuilding/Employee Morale
    • Health and Safety
    • Employee Recognition and Rewards
    • Technical and administrative support/mentoring
  • Consulting/advising on Human Rights inquiries
  • Monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of HR Management Programs and Services
  • Managing the application and compliance of applicable Provincial and Federal Regulations
  • Overseeing the HRMS, supporting documents, and HR (Personnel) Records
  • Other duties as required by management
Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or equivalent,
  • Minimum of 5 – 10 years related HR experience as well as direct supervisory experience in a multi-business company
  • Excellent knowledge of business principals and practice, strong leadership, coaching, facilitation, conflict resolution and management skills
  • The candidate will also possess excellent conceptual, analytical, problem solving and organizational skills
  • Excellent understanding of applicable employment legislation
  • Excellent written, interpersonal, and verbal communication skills and proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • CHRP designation preferred
Pre-employment Requirements:
  • Drug, Alcohol and Audio pre-screening test
  • Clean Driver’s Abstract (current within 30 days)
