The Centre of Hope invites applications for: Full-Time Housing First Coordinator
As an Outreach Worker you will be responsible for but not limited to:
- Providing support, advocacy and resource brokering to the chronic homeless
- Assessing and addressing client needs as a member of a team in a client focused, holistic fashion.
- Conducting assessments and intake interviews with clients in a variety of locations
- Assesses client’s functional, income, employment and housing status to determine resource eligibility
- Participate in conducting research activities
Qualifications:
- Degree or Diploma in Social Services or related field or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
- A desire to make a difference in the life of a Homeless person.
- Advanced knowledge of issues relating to activities of street involved people.
- Experience addressing the needs of homeless individuals.
- Extensive knowledge of resources and services available within the community specific to homelessness.
- Ability to work flexible hours which may include overtime, evenings and weekends.
- Valid Standard First Aid Course
- Class 5 drivers’ license and daily access to a vehicle. Must be willing to transport clients
- Acceptable Criminal Record Check.
Note:
Salary to be negotiated based on 40 hr work week.
