Primary Location: Canada-Alberta-Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo
The Position
Working on broad assignments, is responsible for the cost effective corporate procurement of goods and contract services involving duties ranging from development of specifications, research and identification of qualified vendors, documentation development, bid process and administration, award recommendation, disposal of surplus and salvage goods and vendor disqualification.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalency Certified Professional Purchase (CPP) or Certified Professional Public
- Buyer (CPPB) Designation.
- Five (5) years direct work experience to include a thorough knowledge of purchasing practices, particularly in the public sector, current on purchasing legislation and the proven ability to interpret purchasing practices.
- High level of interpersonal, communication, listening, negotiations and interpretative skills are required.
- High level of diplomacy, political sensitivity and conflict resolution abilities are required.
- High standard of ethics, integrity and discretion.
- Proven working knowledge of the legal ramifications of purchasing, contracted service agreements, FOIP and the Agreement on Internal
- Trade as well as knowledge of the Municipal Government Act.
- Proven ability to demonstrate a high degree of independence and originality.
- Ability to work under pressure with frequent changes, critical time lines and frequent interruptions
- Maintain good knowledge of the vendor community and commodity needs.
- Valid class five (5) Alberta Driver’s License. (Clear driving record an asset).
Salary/ Benefits & Compensation
Pay / Classification Level: PL 20
Salary Range:
- $44.93 (Probationary Rate)
- $49.32 – $52.96 (Permanent Rates)
