Position Type/ Hours:  This is a permanent full-time position working forty (40) hours per week.
Primary Location: Canada-Alberta-Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo
Organization:  Wastewater Treatment
 
The Position
 
Under general supervision, direct all staff involved in the operation of Wastewater and/or Water Treatment Facilities to ensure compliance with Canadian Drinking Water Standards and Federal, Provincial, and Municipal Regulations.
 
Qualifications

  • Successful completion of High School or equivalent (GED) is required.
  • Post-Secondary Diploma in Chemistry, Biology, or Environmental Studies is an asset.
  • Current Level III Wastewater Treatment is required; Level IV Wastewater Treatment is an asset.
  • Level I Water Treatment, Water Distribution, and Wastewater Collection are considered an asset.
  • Minimum five (5) years direct operating experience in a modern Level III or IV Wastewater Treatment facility.
  • Minimum two (2) years at supervisory level in a modern Level III Treatment facility.
  • Demonstrable proficiency in the operation of personal computers, ability to prepare budgets, and technical reports.
You will posses the following:
  • Valid Class Five (5) Alberta Drivers’ License (clear driving record an asset).
  • Proven leadership, planning, communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Must be willing to work outdoors, in all weather conditions and in an unsanitary environment.
  • Immunizations are strongly recommended.
  • Must be medically and physically able to perform all of the duties of this position on an ongoing basis.
Salary/ Benefits & Compensation
 
Pay / Classification Level: PL 20*
 
Salary Range:
  • $52.70 (Probationary Rate)
  • $54.63 (Permanent Rates)
*Rates adjusted to reflect market conditions*
