SMS Equipment Inc. supplies equipment parts and service to the construction, forestry and mining industries and utility product users. It was created to provide customers with integrated solutions and to expand our service capabilities as a nationwide organization.
The Role:
- Provide safety support for the 63 North facility, Town Shop facility and field crews on various customer sites
- Identify and correct potential environmental, health and safety hazards
- Assist with the implementation of environmental, health and safety standards and procedures
- Assist with audits of the environmental and health & safety programs
- Ensure environmental and health & safety programs are in compliance with company standards and government regulations
- Inspect employee work areas on SMS site and customer sites
- Coordinate monthly inspections and meetings
- Acting member of the safety committee
- Develop and manage all matters regarding safety documentation for filing, recording and reporting
- Administer the Company Safety Award Program
- Other related duties
Qualifications:
- Possess a Health and Safety diploma or related education
- 3-5 years of experience in the OH&S field
- Excellent time management and communication skills
- Ability to work under pressure and remain focused
- Proficient with Microsoft Office computer programs

Please note this is a 7X7 shift rotation but may be changed as business requirements change. Successful candidates must be able to complete and obtain Advanced First Aid Ticket to meet Alberta's OH&S legislation requirements.
