The Opportunity
Our client is a unique and sustainable Canadian integrated energy company - a leading position in oil sands, with complementary operations in refining and marketing, North American natural gas production and conventional oil production internationally and offshore East Coast Canada.
Based in Calgary, the Contracts Administrator will manage the contract management activities for a respective Project area. Reporting to the Team Leader Contracts, this role will also focus on the ongoing management of service contracts and contract compliance in support of the Project Execution Plan.

Experience:
- Post secondary Business or Supply Chain degree preferred.
- 1+ Years experience in Supply Chain - Contracts, with increasing responsibility.
- Oil & Gas, Mining or Utilities industry experience preferred
Qualifications:
- Set individual performance targets in alignment with Contract Management organization objectives.
- Assist with the effective implementation of the administration and coordination procedures for all contracts and service agreements allocated from plan until completion and contract closeout.
- Assists in developing contracting plans, coordinate and communicate with various project stakeholders the timely delivery of their responsibilities/deliverables required for contract formation.
- Conduct and assist contract formation activities as required.
- Attest Contractor invoices in compliance with established procedures and certify and approve the invoices for Contractor's submission of same to Accounts Payable for input into SAP and Payment to contractor.
- Create, implement and maintain tracking systems and ensure signing authorities are adhered to for commitments.
- Ensure the assembly and maintenance of contract records for the purpose of administering contracts.
- Assist in the preparation for claims defense cases.
- Communicate potential impacts and contract information to the CM Team as required.
- Coordinate with contractors to ensure all contractual obligations are adhered to.
- Coordinate and document Meetings for all contracts
- Conduct contract close out processes.
- Assist in stewardship activities related to contract performance (e.g., gathering data, reporting, etc.).
- Responsible for the collection and management of contract / supplier data in accordance with the company's data management policies and procedures for respective categories.
- Support the warranty management process, escalating issues as necessary.
- Coordinate with Project Management, Construction Management, Business Development, Legal, and Finance during contract preparation and project execution.
With respect to continuous improvement:
- Support continuous improvement activities across the Contract Management function.
- May participate in regular meetings with cross-functional teams to evaluate project requirements, communicate expectations and evaluate process optimization opportunities.
- Recommend ways to improve the company's Contract Management practices.
