Role and Responsibilities

  • Detail plan any “new scope”, tasks per drawing and system (in the form of “work tasks” as per the standard task list.) for any work that is added to the original scope during the construction phase.
  • Develop a strong understanding of the Clients Engineering Specifications and there relation with the Work Packages.
  • Develop Comprehensive understanding of the scope of the Package.
  • Work with the Construction Planner to determine Craft Manpower requirements on additional work.
  • Ensure any new addendum drawings are added to the proper work packages (work with Document Control).
  • Ensure Readiness Checklist is signed off for each Work Packages by the Superintendent.
  • Ensure trend alerts are initiated for any “additional scope” as required.
  • Include all required signed off Checklist in package.
  • Plan the new scope “tasks” per drawing and system.
  • Provide Constructability analysis on any suggested changes. ( i.e. Safety Health Environment or Risk, Cost,  Productivity, and/or Schedule)
  • Review the package requirements and scope with the Foreman, General Foreman and the Superintendent.
  • Sign off on Readiness Checklist after all the pre-requisites have been satisfied.
  • Update Efficiency tracking log from Time Loss Surveys.
Job Requirements
  • Appropriate computer skills, which include: Microsoft Office Suite- Excel, Wrod, Power Point and Outlook.  
  • Experience with MS Project and Primavera considered an asset. 
  • FISL (Flint Infrastructure Services Ltd.) Orientation, FISL Leadership for Safety Excellence, standard First Aid/CPR, site Orientation, H2S Alive (If site goes Brownfield / Operational).
  • FISL Intranet access, OFE-FDMS (Flint Document Management System) access, CSTS (Construction Safety Training System)
  • Construction Supervisory experience considered an asset.
  • 5+ years of Industrial Construction Experience as a Journeyman with a minimum of 2 years in planning.
  • Have a good knowledge regarding Occupational Health and Safety (OH & S) requirements and apply this knowledge to the work plan.
  • Ability to work in both an office environment and field environment.
  • Excellent people skills, good Communication skills both verbal and written.
  • A good understanding of Scheduling Software Reports.
  • Good working knowledge of all the construction disciplines.
  • Ability to work in both an office environment and field environments.
  • Valid Drivers License.
