Responsibilities:
- Review Resource And Production Plan (RAPP) and pre-job planning details and communicate to all maintenance personnel.
- Ensure that all applicable work permits are obtained and adhered to.
- Ensure maintenance activities are conducted in a safe and courteous manner at all times and in accordance with company and industry standards.
- Develop daily work plans and ensure communication of daily priorities with field personnel.
- Review Daily Weekly Operating Report (DWOR) and ensure appropriate actions are taken to address KPI performance issues.
- Secure and ensure proper deployment of job resources including ordering parts, requesting personnel, tools and consumables.
- Ensure and enforce compliance to all company, client and legislated safety policies and procedures.
- Ensure all new hires/transfers receive required orientations. Attend and participate in site specific orientations.
- Conduct daily and weekly safety meetings and inspections and complete follow-up activities.
- Ensure adequate and suitable safety equipment, including PPE, is supplied, readily accessible, properly used and maintained.
- Review safe work plans/ hazard assessment with crew prior to job commencement.
- Conduct incident investigations and prepare associated support documentation immediately.
- Ensure the effective use of the work order system.
- Participate in the hiring process for new personnel and the discipline of current personnel as required.
- Coordinate with the Equipment Superintendent to ensure proper training of personnel.
Qualifications:
- Three years experience in a heavy equipment shop accompanied by some supervisory background.
- Post secondary education or equivalent experience relating to shop/field supervision.
- AMSA (Alberta Mining Safety Association) certificate.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Trained in CSTS, WHMIS and Standard First Aid.
