Role and Responsibilities
The principal duties of this position include:
- Planning and supervising the scaffolding work.
- Coordinating manpower, equipment, and materials supplies to meet the schedule while respecting the HSE requirements while minimizing costs.
- Participation in project progress meeting and leading our scaffolding work.
- Ensuring the procurement of scaffolding material meets deadlines and optimizes the scaffolding on site.
- Direct and supervise the scaffolding crews for peak performance of all aspects of their work.
- Exercise strict control over the cost associated with the scaffolding. This includes reviewing variances from budgeted expenditure and recommending/initiating action to bring them under control.
- Discussing and resolving daily problems with the crew supervisors and the construction group to ensure smooth execution of the scaffolding erection/inspection or removal program.
- Monitor scaffolding works on a daily, weekly and monthly basis and reporting to the Construction Manager as per existing procedures.
- Maintaining functional links with other project personnel, particularly with the Administration, Procurement, Material and Construction groups.
- Create forward plans for the mobilization or release of equipment and personnel employed in the scaffolding works.
Qualifications
- 15 or more years of intensive experience in construction works, involving scaffolding, erection of temporary construction facilities at a supervisory level.
- Able to lead all the activities relating to scaffolding assembly erection, inspection and removal.
