Primary Location: Canada-Alberta-Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo
Operate and perform minor maintenance on assigned heavy equipment including towing and recovery equipment, dump trucks and trailers, front end loaders, flusher trucks, sanders, street sweepers, and man lift truck used in year round maintenance and/or construction of streets, roads and facilities. Perform heavy manual labour for an extended period of time in various weather conditions.
Asset Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a mechanical maintenance role.
- Standard First Aid – CPR Level A.
- Defensive Driving Course.
Qualifications
- Successful completion of a High School Diploma is required.
- Valid Alberta Class One (1) Driver’s License with Q Endorsement.
- Must successfully complete a criminal record check.
- Minimum of two (2) years experience in the operation of commercial trucks and heavy equipment.
- Experience on other related heavy equipment (skid steer, excavator, grader, backhoe, etc.) would be considered an asset.
- Previous experience with vehicle towing and recovery would be considered an asset.
- Previous experience in Emergency Response (ie Volunteer Firefighter or Ambulance Attendant) would be considered an asset.
- Considerable knowledge of safety precautions, methods, and techniques employed in the trucking and heavy equipment industry.
- Must be able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
- Must be willing to work a rotating shift schedule outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Potential for unsanitary conditions - immunizations are strongly recommended.
- Must be medically and physically able to perform all job tasks.
- Must be willing to wear uniforms and other PPE as directed to maintain a professional image.
Salary/ Benefits & Compensation
Pay / Classification Level: PL 12
Salary Range:
- $34.26 (Probationary Rate)
- $37.46 – $40.14 (Permanent Rates)
