The Northeast Child and Family Services Authority (CFSA) is looking for an enthusiastic and skilled candidate to work in the rewarding and challenging field of Alberta Human Services. The Northeast region provides a range of services to the community including Child Protection and Family Enhancement. We are looking for someone with an interest in these areas to work with us in shaping positive futures for Albertan children.
Requirements
- Our ideal applicant has an understanding of children and some of the more difficult issues facing families in Alberta.
- These issues may include poverty, domestic violence, and addictions among others.
- You have a strong commitment to your work and you will develop as a professional from the challenges that working directly with children and families provides.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills assist you in connecting with people from a wide variety of backgrounds.
- In this position, you will utilize your knowledge of community resources and the Child, Youth, and Family Enhancement Act combined with your ability to build relationships with families in order to develop and review case plans to ensure each child's needs are being met.
- Experience in or knowledge of Aboriginal communities is an asset.
Benefits & Compensation
If you are the successful candidate and you are either new to the Government of Alberta, or relocating to Fort McMurray for this position, you will be eligible for an Attraction Bonus.
The Attraction Bonus is equivalent to 25% of your gross base pay upon commencement. The bonus is paid on a quarterly basis over the first year of employment and requires a two-year return service commitment. The attraction bonus will be prorated for positions that are less than two years in duration.
You will also be eligible for the Fort McMurray Living Allowance in the amount of $478.17 bi-weekly.
Qualifications
- The strongest applicants will have a Masters of Social Work or a Bachelors of Social Work with some related front line child intervention experience.
- The following equivalencies will also be considered: a related university degree or diploma plus several years of related experience.
Salary $2,277.71 to $2,944.37 Bi-weekly
Notes
- As per the Health Professions Act, successful applicants who possess a MSW, BSW or Social Work Diploma (SW Diploma from an Alberta College) are required to register and maintain registration with the Alberta College of Social workers.
- Successful candidates will undergo pre-employment security screening.
