Job Description

Noralta Lodge Ltd operates many camp style lodges year round throughout northern Alberta, and has many positions available in our efficiently run facilities.
 
Selected candidates will work on a 21/7 or 14/7 shift rotation as assigned by the Employer. Transportation is provided from Edmonton to lodges therefore preference may be given to applicants that are Alberta residents. Food & Lodging is provided while on shift rotation. Full 100% company paid benefits and an employee/employer shared RRSP program are both available after successful completion of the required 6 month probationary period. Positions may be dependent on successful pre-access testing.
 
Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma; Post-secondary education an asset;
  • 2 - 3 years valuable front desk experience;
  • Clean Criminal Record and good verifiable references
  • Valid First Aid/CPR/WHMIS certification preferred.
Knowledge & Skills:
  • Ability to work cooperatively as a member of the team through personal behavior, work contribution and sharing of expertise and knowledge;
  • Proficient computer skills (Microsoft applications/Camp Manager);
  • Ability to create and maintain Excel spreadsheets;
  • Excellent customer service skills with strong attention to detail;
  • Excellent Communication (written & verbal) and Interpersonal Skills;
  • Excellent comprehension and command of the English language; (written & verbal);
  • Comfortable using various office equipment (ie. fax, copier, computer);
  • Aptitude to work independently with sharp problem solving and decision making skills;
  • Self-motivation, confidence, discretion, and good judgment;
  • Capable of working long hours on your feet;
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Primary Purpose of The Position:
  • Front Desk Clerks will be the first point of contact and welcome guests with a professional image during registration and check-outs. Attend and respond to complaints as necessitated.
Performance Responsibilities:
  • Process guest arrivals and departures while being pleasant, welcoming and professional;
  • Communicate daily with Camp Manager, Housekeeping, Security and/or Maintenance personnel on a regular basis in regard to issues of interest;
  • Compose and respond to emails/queries pertaining to the lodge on a daily basis;
  • Process payments with accuracy, answering telephones and managing other tasks at the front desk;
  • Maintain occupancy statistics, weekly billing procedures and other tasks required to operate efficiently;
  • Attend to guest complaints in a timely and professional manner;
  • Provide guests with knowledge of the facility including emergency evacuation procedures;
  • Light housekeeping/cleaning duties in and around the front desk and public areas;
  • Act as an ambassador for Noralta Lodge in all dealings with the public and staff;
  • To be familiar with and carry out duties and responsibilities in accordance with Health & Safety policies approved by Noralta Lodge along with Occupational Health & Safety regulations;
  • Such other duties that may be required that falls within the parameters of the position as assigned.

Reports To: Camp Manager
Daily Hours Of Work: 8 hours per day
 
Performance Evaluation:
  • This position is to be evaluated in accordance with established policy and/or as needs dictate.
