Job Description

Noralta Lodge Ltd operates many camp style lodges year round throughout northern Alberta, and has many positions available in our efficiently run facilities.
 
Selected candidates will work on a 21/7 or 14/7 shift rotation as assigned by the Employer. Transportation is provided from Edmonton to lodges therefore preference may be given to applicants that are Alberta residents. Food & Lodging is provided while on shift rotation. Full 100% company paid benefits and an employee/employer shared RRSP program are both available after successful completion of the required 6 month probationary period. Positions may be dependent on successful pre-access testing.
 
Qualifications:

  • Grade 12 Diploma;
  • Preferred applicants will have minimum 3 years experience in maintenance work in facilities or similar amenities;
  • Valid Class V Driver's License with Air Brake Endorsement (preferred will be Class III);
  • Valid First Aid/CPR/WHMIS certification;
  • Heavy Equipment operating experience;
  • Preference may be to candidate with Certification in a building trade/building operator or equivalent certification and/or experience as determined by Noralta Lodge.

Primary Purpose Of The Position:
  • To assist with the maintenance of buildings and equipment owned or operated by Noralta Lodge and to operate equipment as required.

Performance Responsibilities:
  • Perform maintenance-related duties on buildings, grounds and equipment owned or operated by Noralta Lodge;
  • Report items damaged or in need of repair or upgrade, other than routine items, to the Maintenance Manager/Supervisor;
  • To perform preventative maintenance in accordance with the preventative maintenance program;
  • Performs regular furnace/hot water heater maintenance to include water treatment and day-to-day checks;
  • Perform regular checks on emergency generators, lift stations, and other equipment as required;
  • Perform maintenance on pumps, and mechanical systems as required to keep the equipment in an efficient, safe operating state;
  • Perform basic electrical repairs such as changing ballasts;
  • Perform basic plumbing repairs;
  • Perform basic carpentry and/or repairs;
  • Maintain excellent communication with Front Desk on daily basis for any maintenance requirements of the lodge;
  • Operate equipment such as bobcat, garbage truck, snow-blowers, ride on mowers;
  • Other maintenance related duties, which may include but not be limited to such things as painting, snow clearing, grounds maintenance and generally helping with in areas as necessitated;
  • Other related duties pertaining to the position as required to ensure facility maintenance and appearance is of a high quality;
  • Acts as an ambassador for Noralta Lodge in all dealings with the public, management and fellow staff.
  • To become familiar with and carry out duties and responsibilities in accordance with Noralta Lodge Health & Safety program and Alberta Occupational Health & Safety regulations.
Reports To: Maintenance Manager/Supervisor
Daily Hours Of Work: 12 hours per day
 
Performance Evaluation:
 
This position will be evaluated annually by the Maintenance Manager assisted by the Field Manager/Supervisor as per Noralta Lodge personnel policy and/or as needs dictate.
