Responsibilities:
- Calculation of all quantities for construction contract.
- Processing of all survey data.
- Download and process survey data from survey crews.
- Calculate takeoff quantities from design drawings.
- Calculate as-built quantities using computer CAD software (AutoCad) in accordance with accepted practices.
- Create drawings indicating surveyed areas.
- Create as-built drawings for turnover packages.
- Create spreadsheet summaries of quantities.
- Create layout information for survey crews.
- Work with all levels of project and support staff to ensure that quantities are being measured for payment and in accordance with the contract.
- Work with both company and client personnel to ensure all requirements for survey and turnover packages are met.
Qualifications:
- Minimum five (5) years experience as a crew chief on a survey crew.
- Demonstrated experience in providing construction surveys in the municipal/highway/mining/industrial construction sectors.
- Demonstrated experience in calculating takeoff and as-built quantities.
- Completion of an accredited survey program from a technical institute (NAIT, SAIT, BCIT or equivalent).
- Combination of suitable experience and technical training.
- Excellent computer skills and use of AutoCad.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to react to changing work priorities.
- Ability to meet deadlines.
