The Chief Field Engineer (CFE), under the direction of the Construction Manager, has the responsibility for the administration, staffing, supervision and direction of the construction engineering group and site Project Document and Data Management (PDDM).
The CFE will work closely with the design office Project Engineering Manager (PEM) to resolve errors, omissions and other conflicts in the design documents. This includes any field and contractor / subcontractor Request for Information (RFI) that require design engineer resolution.
The CFE will assist the Quality Manager in the development, review and approval of the Site Quality Manual to ensure that the Construction Engineering Staff members support fully all aspects of the program in order to achieve project quality objectives.
The CFE will interface with the Quality Manager to coordinate and document “in-process” and “final” inspections of the work. The Site Quality Manual will detail those inspections that are the responsibility of the Engineering Group The CFE will provide technical resolutions to issued Non Conformance Reports (NCR) with the assistance of the site quality department.
The CFE, together with the Construction Manager and Site Quality Manager, will work with the Construction Technology Group (CTG) Automation Team to determine what automation services are required for the project.

Basic Job Requirements
- Requires 15+ years of project related experience in the petrochemical industry with five (5) years in a supervisory role.
Other Job Requirements
- Thorough, working knowledge of and experience with computers.
- Excellent problem resolution and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong organizational skills, judgment and flexibility.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Leadership skills / team player.
- Fluent in English, with excellent writing skills.
- Previous Fluor experience highly desirable
Preferred Qualifications:
- Engineering Degree (Bachelor of Science or Equivalent)
