Position Scope:
 
As one of the largest providers of mining, heavy construction, industrial, piling, and pipeline services in Western Canada North American Construction Group is recruiting for General Labourers in the Fort McMurray area.
 
This position is a union position. Successful candidates must join the Local 955 union. This position pays $25.74/hr.
 
Responsibilities:

  • Keeping the shop and yard clean.
  • Steam cleaning equipment for repair in shop.
  • Painting equipment after major rebuilds in the paint bay.
  • Operating fork trucks for moving parts and other items, around the shop and yard.
  • Operating company vehicles to pick up parts and move items around the yard and between sites.
  • Ensure compliance to all company, client and legislated safety policies and procedures.
  • Using adequate and suitable safety equipment, including PPE. PPE is supplied, readily accessible, properly using it and maintaining it.
Qualifications:
  • Operate forklift, skid steers, small loaders
  • Demonstrate safety at all times
  • Standard first aid course
  • Experience around heavy equipment is an asset
  • Forklift operating certificate
