Overview:
P2S Driver is currently looking for a HR Coordinator for its project north of Fort McMurray, Alberta. Reporting to Site Project Manager, the HR Coordinator is responsible for providing human resources and labour relations support to the maintenance team.
Specific duties and responsibilities for this position include
Human Resources
- Providing specialized advise to internal colleagues, supervisors, and management;
- Advising managers on routine HR operations and procedures;
- Deals with 1st level harassment investigations for both trade and staff situations;
- Works with the management team on Manpower scheduling;
- Coordinate the recruitment effort with the head office Human Resources Department;
- Ensure everyone on site has the required training/certifications;
- Assist in the development of human resource plans based on site development projections and develop strategies/techniques to provide the necessary people with the right skills/training;
- Deals with the daily employee relation issues;
- Coordinate the performance management process for site personnel;
- Oversees camp and travel for the project;
- Develop and maintain field employee database, including crewmembers, work schedules, personal information, and terminations;
- May generate and evaluate statistical analysis reports.
Labor Relations
- Participates in the delivery of labor relations training programs and policies;
- Advises project supervisors on disciplinary policy and procedures;
- Develops, recommends, and maintains procedures and systems within the Project;
- Participates in the Labor Management Committee;
- Prepares labor relations and workforce reports;
- Provide advice and provide information as needed for Alberta labor relations, union and collective agreement negotiations to the Director of Industrial Relations;
- Deals with 1st level grievance investigations.
Education and Experience Required:
- Post-secondary certificate, diploma or degree from an accredited college, technical institute or university in a relevant discipline and /or equivalent experience with ongoing professional development, CHRP designation is a definite asset;
- Three (3) to five (5) years of experience in a human resource generalist position;
- Experience working within an Industrial Construction or Maintenance environment is preferred;
- Intermediate computer skills, particularly working with data and data bases;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
- Excellent planning, organizational and interpersonal skills and an ability to handle sensitive personnel situations/issues;
- Strong problem solving and analysis skills;
- Ability to set and manage priorities to meet all deadlines;
- Conflict resolution and facilitation training would be considered an asset.
