Position Type/ Hours: This is a temporary position working thirty-five (35) hours per week for approximately six (6) months

Organization: Information Technology
The Position
With some independent action, support, review, and manage purchasing for the Information Technology Department regarding hardware services and products. This includes overseeing technology spending, and managing an inventory of hardware. This position will also define and facilitate communication between the municipality and its providers in order to deliver technological hardware according to plan and within budget.
Qualifications
- Two (2) year Office Administration Diploma or Business Administration Diploma is required.
- ITIL Foundations and other computer certifications would be considered an asset.
- Three (3) years experience in information technology procurement is required.
- Knowledge of information systems terminology, concepts, practices, and regulatory standards.
- Ability to deal tactfully with vendors, suppliers, and contractors who provide a broad spectrum of software and hardware products and services.
- Budgeting, inventory, and cost-management skills.
- Ability to work both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
- Ability to conform to shifting priorities in spending strategies, product demands, and purchasing timelines through analytical capabilities.
- Persuasive, encouraging, and diplomatic.
- Ability to elicit cooperation from a wide variety of sources.
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Adept at conducting research into software-related issues.
- Must be able to learn, understand, and apply new technologies.
- Customer service skills an asset.
- Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
- High degree of precision and accuracy in documentation and investigative procedures.
- Creative thinking, organizational, interpersonal and communication skills are required.
- Ability to learn new operations quickly and work independently.
- Must be medically and physically able to perform all duties of the job.
Salary/ Benefits & Compensation
Pay / Classification Level: PL 14 Salary Range: $35.39 (Temporary Rate)
In addition to the rate of pay, we offer other attractive incentives:
- an additional bi-weekly payment of $480 which represents a cost of living allowance
