The Fort McKay Group of Companies LP is currently recruiting for an experienced Team Lead for Fort McKay Strategic Services LP - Muskeg Mountain Division. The Team Lead will report to the General Foreman or Designate, the Team Lead is accountable for supervising the operation of the Mine Services in a safe and efficient manner consistent with the mission, vision and values of the Fort McKay Group of Companies LP.
 
This is a permanent full-time position located north of Fort McMurray, AB.
 
Role and Responsibilities

  • Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement in a team operating framework
  • Consistently demonstrated ability to deliver HSE performance success
  • Practical understanding of and well-developed skills in open pit mine operations
  • Ability to provide input to and implement policies and procedures
  • Ability to identify problems; analyze and identify alternative solutions, consequences of proposed actions and implement recommendations in support of goals
  • Ability to provide construction progress reports to clients.
  • Read, analyze and evaluate written materials and statistical data including reports, financial reports, and budget
  • Strong organization skills such as multi-tasking, set and reset priorities
  • Must be flexible and work effectively in a fast paced environment
  • Must be decisive and work well under pressure, particularly when faced with an unexpected occurrence or delay
  • Strong interpersonal, communication (oral/written) and supervisory skills
  • Ability to foster a cooperative work environment
  • Ability to minimize and resolve conflicts
Skills and Qualifications Required:
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Current training in behavior based HSE principles, Leadership, Mine Planning and Scheduling
  • Experience in Heavy Equipment operations is essential
  • CSTS and OSSA is required
  • Minimum of five (5) years experience in mining or civil construction is required
  • Ability to follow construction designs is required
  • Minimum of five (5) years in supervisory/leadership capacity
  • Familiarity with Construction Mythology and Surveying is essential.
  • Current valid Class five (5) drivers license or better with clean driving abstract
  • Strong computer skills such as the ability to use Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook and the Internet comfortably
Working Conditions:
 
Site Environment with exposure to dust, loud noise from equipment, uneven walking and driving surfaces and temperatures ranging from 30? Celsius to -30? Celsius.
