Job Description
Our client's state-of-the-art fabrication and modularization facilities are designed to meet the fabrication assembly requirements of all construction projects, small to large, from the fabrication phase to field installation. They deliver value and expertise in structural steel fabrication, small bore pipe fabrication, module and fabrication assembly, skid fabrication and assembly, custom fabrication services plus numerous value-added services.
Currently they are seeking to add Instrumentation Technicians to their operation. The positions are Monday through Friday, 9 hours per day with overtime as necessary.
Key Accountabilities
- Review work assignments and job procedures to ensure safe and reliable work execution
- Perform proactive maintenance, trouble shooting and repairs for a wide range of Instrumentation and control equipment, including: Hydraulic, Pneumatic and Electrically operated valves, various pressure and flow measurements, radiation density Guages, Radar level transmitters, CCTV monitoring systems, Computerized control systems, and much more
- Perform field work to a high quality and provide thorough follow up via documentation of work into SAP records and initiation of drawing revisions
- Initiate requests for engineering support via close communication with Supervision and actively participate in post event failure analysis and root cause discussions
- Come to work each day ready to learn new skills and develop strong relationships with supervision, fellow crew, engineering and plant operations personnel
Required Qualifications
- Must have an Alberta or inter-provincial red seal Instrumentation certificate
- Preference will be given to those possessing five or more years of related industrial electrical experience
- High level of computer literacy
- Must possess a valid driver's license
- Applicants must have a high school diploma or a GED
- Experience and interest in various DCS and PLC control systems
- Experience in or knowledge of heavy oil/oil sands production an asset
- Work as a team member with engineering and production personnel to achieve long term equipment reliability
- Must be a self-starter with demonstrated ability to make sound decisions
- Demonstrated strong interpersonal, technical, and communication skills
- Familiar with computerized maintenance management systems
- Demonstrated problem solving, troubleshooting and analytical skills
