The Opportunity
 
Currently, we have an opening available for a creative and innovative Project Coordinator for our Edmonton, AB and Fort McMurray, AB divisions of Rohit Communities.
 
Role and Responsibilities
 
Analysis of drawings, specifications, material takeoffs and detailed scope of work for tendering:
  • Analysis of blueprints and specifications.
  • Review of engineering drawings.
  • Material selections for project.
  • Calculation of material take-offs.
  • Detailed budget of project.
Evaluation of bids and preparation of contract documents with budget.
  • Generate bidders list and initiate tendering process.
  • Solicit new vendors.
  • Analysis of vendor bids.
  • Negotiate cost and award contracts.
  • Prepare time, cost and labor estimates for projects.
  • Maintain computer databases (cost comparisons, specifications, correspondence, etc.).
Set up project, input contract details and generate purchase orders with Newstar.
  • Project setup in Newstar and Sales profiler.
  • Maintenance of Product Library in Newstar.
  • Generate and approve purchase orders.
  • Apply for building permits, power meters and gas meters.
Expedite pricing and maintain customer change orders in sales profiler.
  • Approve/process all price increases and design change cost variances.
  • Receive and process purchase agreements.
  • Price and process customer change orders.
  • Provide Newstar training as required.
Education and Experience Requirements:
  • Completion of high school diploma.
  • Completion of post-secondary education in estimating or project management.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in project coordination.
  • Current valid drivers license.
Technical Skills:
  • Oral and written communication skills.
  • Organizational and time management skills.
  • Accurate and detail orientated.
  • Job task planning, decision making and problem solving.
  • Able to work with all levels of employees from senior management to subcontractors.
  • Intermediate use of Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word.
  • Math skills relating to estimating.
  • Read blueprints and soil reports.
  • Experience using Newstar is an asset.
