HSE Representative
Under the Site HSE Senior Safety Manager's direction, this position reports to the Area HSE Supervisor and to the Area Construction Manager to address HSE issues as guided by supervision. Under the HSE Senior Safety Manager's direction, supports the assigned site area's HSE programs and policies, incorporating appropriate HSE standards. Responsible for necessary analysis and audits of the assigned areas work site to minimize the potential for injury or other loss.
Within the position's assigned area:
- Supports the area HSE Supervisor;
- Gathers information/data on site conditions at the assigned project area;
- Follows weekly inspection schedule and communicates this schedule to Sub-contractor construction foremen;
- Conduct daily HSE audits at the assigned project area;
- Conduct 'spot' inspections of area construction equipment & personnel for compliance with site and local regulations;
- Supports the investigations of incidents;
- Relate audit findings to the Sub-contractor construction foremen for correct actions;
- Monitors the corrective actions to closure;
- Reviews Work Execution Plans in relation to construction equipment & personnel to insure that contractors are properly utilizing the plans in the field to stay in compliance with local regulations;
- Prepares and submits records, reports, and required documents to the area's HSE Supervisor as requested by the HSE Manager;
- Maintains all aspects of the HSE program in the assigned project area to all levels of employees and fosters such programs to improve awareness;
- Enforces HSE standards and applicable legislation and regulations;
- Supports & provides guidance to area sub-contractors through interpretation of HSE Practices and Procedures, legislation, and regulations;
- Refines working knowledge of HSE programs by applying HSE procedures;
- Assist substance abuse programs and HSE statistics activities as directed;
- Assists with orientation program for project employees;
- Support and enforcement of security plan;
- Execution and completion of security specific tasks;
- Performs other duties as agreed and assigned by supervisor.
Basic Job Requirements
- Four (4) year university degree plus two (2) years of HSE experience or typically has five (5) years of HSE or project related experience.
- University Bachelor or equivalent degree in engineering or science required for design responsibilities.
Other Job Requirements
- Ability to communicate, verbal & written, HSE audits at the assigned project area.
- Self motivated with strong communication skills who works well as an individual and as part of a team.
- Good computer skills with advanced use of Excel, Word, Lotus Notes, Office.
