General Accountability:
Fort McKay Group of Companies LP is currently recruiting for six (6) experienced Heavy Equipment Operators for Muskeg Mountain Division. The Heavy Equipment Operator is to conduct all activities in a manner that supports the mission, the vision and values of the Fort McKay Group of Companies LP.
These are temporary positions lasting for approximately three (3) months located north of Fort McMurray, AB. Camp accommodations will be provided.
Role and Responsibilities
- Operate heavy equipment to move, load and unload materials
- Conduct pre-operational checks on equipment and keep the truck clean
- Muskeg removal
- Must be able to work shift rotations; days and nights??
- Must be dependable and reliable
- Required to comply with all road regulations on site
- Be alert to risks or threats in order to prevent losses before they occur
- Give proper care to the operation and maintenance of the equipment
- Report all damage of the equipment to the Team Leader
Skills and Qualifications Required:
- Minimum one (1) year similar work experience is required
- Grade twelve (12) Diploma or GED equivalent is required
- Retention of a valid class five (5) drivers license and clean drivers abstract is required?(Please submit a?three (3) year drivers abstract when applying)
- CSTS and OSSA is required
- Ability to speak, write and read English is required
- College or industry courses in heavy equipment operating is considered an asset
Working Conditions:
Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) is required at all times. There are some physically demanding aspects of the job such as climbing the equipment.
