Hood Group is currently looking for an Intermediate Structural Designer seeking to work in a dynamic environment and would like a refreshing change. The Intermediate Structural Designer will work with the design team and design discipline lead to create electronic (CAD) working plans and technical drawings for various projects. He or she must have strong communication skills as they will be reviewing plans and conferring with internal stakeholders to meet project specifications and ensure the company’s project development needs are fulfilled.
Academic Requirements and Experience:
- Diploma in Civil/Structural or Engineering design and drafting technology and/ or relevant work experience
- Expert proficiency in using AutoCAD, including 2D and 3D modeling functions
- Strong working knowledge of 3D design software including (CADWorx, or Autoplant) software suites
- Experience in Tekla Structures would be an asset
- Minimum of 5 years experience in structural design and/or drafting
- 5+ years of experience working on technical projects and project budgets
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite programs used to create reports and documents
- Experience in the oil and gas industry would be an asset
