Summary of Position
BFI Constructors is a subcontractor providing construction services to the unionized heavy industrial marketplace. Our workforce encompasses all of the craft trade unions along with out of scope personnel such as site coordinators, site supervisors and support staff.
The General Foreman provides leadership and is responsible for safety, scheduling, cost control, coordinating and supervising Foreman, ensuring quality and productivity of the crews.
Key Accountabilities
- Accountable for the efficient organization of crews
- Communicating the job and tasks to the Foremen
- Identifying, verifying and reporting any scheduling conflicts
- Accountable for ensuring work meets productivity and quality standards
- Mentoring Foremen
- Understanding, communicating and ensuring compliance with all applicable Union Agreements
- Adhering to company policies, procedures and programs
- Involved and supportive in the day to day disciplinary decisions
Candidate Profile
- Effective communicator, both verbal and written
- Knows how to read drawings and interpret specifications
- Excellent team building skills
- Takes responsibility, can adjust to change and has a willingness to learn
- Understands the difference between driving hard on deliverables and driving people ineffectively
- Leadership for Safety Excellence and Standard First Aid are preferred
- 3+ years experience as a Foreman
