The Position
 
Fort McKay Group of Companies is currently recruiting for experienced Heavy Equipment Operators - Haul Truck for the Fort McKay Strategic Services - Muskeg Mountain Division. The Heavy Equipment Operator is to conduct all activities in a manner that supports the mission, the vision and values of the Fort McKay Group of Companies.  This is a permanent full-time position located north of Fort McMurray, AB.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Operate heavy equipment to move materials
• Operate 740, 777 and 789 haul trucks and articulating 40 ton rock trucks
• Conduct pre-operational checks on equipment and keep the truck clean
• Must be able to work shift rotations; days and nights (14/7)
• Must be dependable and reliable
• Required to comply with all road regulations on site
• Be alert to risks or threats in order to prevent losses before they occur
• Give proper care to the operation and maintenance of the equipment
• Report all damage of the equipment to the Team Leader

• Grade twelve (12) Diploma or GED equivalent is required
• Retention of a valid class five (5) drivers license and clean drivers abstract is required
• Minimum two (2) years similar work experience is required
• CSTS and OSSA is required
• Ability to speak, write and read English is required
• College or industry courses in heavy equipment operating is considered an asset
