The Position
 
Noralta Lodge Ltd., owns and operates high end camp style lodging in Northern Alberta including: Firebag, Ft. McMurray, Red Earth, and Wabasca. We pride ourselves on our exceptional food service, comfortable accommodations and cleanliness, all of which set us apart from our competition.  We currently have a permanent full time opening for a Heavy Duty Mechanic (Journeyman Red Seal)
 
Role and Responsibilities
 
The position is responsible for implementing and maintaining a preventative maintenance program on all refrigeration, heating, cooling, make up air and related systems in our Northern Lodges. The position reports to the Facilities Maintenance Manager/Supervisor working, a two week in and one week out (14/7) shift rotation.
 
Under general supervision, perform skilled journeyman level work in their respective trade. Work involves preventative and corrective maintenance, inspections, and troubleshooting, diagnosing and repairs to our company fleet of light & heavy trucks and equipment.
 
Qualifications & Skills:

  • Alberta or inter-provincial journeyman certification as heavy duty mechanic.
  • A minimum of five (5) years’ experience as a journeyman heavy duty mechanic in areas specific to the particular trade.
  • Valid Class 1 and Class 5 Driver’s License with clean abstract
  • Certificates appropriate to the trade are required, e.g., engine repairs, transmission repairs, hydraulic & electrical courses, etc.
  • Experience in a mixed fleet environment
