RECEPTIONIST/SOCIAL ASSISTANCE (SA) ASSISTANT – Health Centre
General Description:
The Fort McKay First Nation is seeking a motivated and multitask-oriented individual who is flexible and works well in a team environment to fill the full-time permanent position of Receptionist/Social Assistance (SA) Assistant, reporting directly to the Fort McKay Health Services Manager. The Receptionist/SA Assistant will provide administrative support by answering telephones, greeting visitors and handling all administrative details required by the Health Centre, as well as assist the Income Support Clerk as necessary. This is a permanent full-time position and is based on seventy-five (75) hours bi-weekly.
Duties:
· Assist community members in understanding the day-to-day functioning of the Health Centre
· Assist non SA clients who are currently looking for financial assistance
· Answer telephones, transfer phone calls, take and relay messages, schedule medical appointments
· Greet visitors to the organization in a professional and friendly manner
· Organize business meetings including location, refreshments, meals, etc.
· Direct phone inquiries to the appropriate staff member
· Reply to general information requests with accurate information
· Sort incoming mail, faxes, and deliveries for distribution
· Prepare and send outgoing faxes, mail and packages
· Forward incoming general e-mails to the appropriate staff member
· Data entry and upkeep of the organization’s databases, ensuring a high level of accuracy
· Perform clerical duties, such as word processing, spreadsheet, database or presentation software to prepare reports, memos, letters and other documents
· Prepare meeting agendas, attend meetings, and record and transcribe minutes
· Draft correspondence and reports
· Make travel arrangements, prepare expense reports, order and maintain office supplies
· Develop and maintain a records and filing management system (including classifying and coding electronic and hardcopy files)
· Operate and maintain personal office space, staff room, office equipment such as fax machines, photocopiers, voice mail messaging systems and computer scanning equipment
· Manage general office safety and cleanliness conditions
· Provide administrative support to Health Centre staff

Qualifications:
A High School Diploma or equivalent, one to three years of Clerical experience. Experience in a First Nations community is a definite asset.
