The Position

The Extraction Planning and Scheduling Team is seeking a qualified individual to join their team in the role of Maintenance Planner. The purpose of this position is to provide planning to facilitate efficient execution of maintenance activities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Review and validate clarity of work requests
  • Produce cost estimates as required
  • Receives approved work orders for planning
  • Build plans that minimize equipment downtime and maximize safe/efficient/effective use of resources
  • Initiate the interface between maintenance and other business areas to develop an integrated plan
  • Utilize planner complexity guidelines to determine the extent of detailed planning required
  • Define scope of work for contract services
  • Identify material needs
  • Initiate procurement and track status of materials and contract services
  • Test the plan to ensure alignment with original objectives
  • Produce the job pack as defined by GRS guidelines
  • Recycle major changes and deviations from the plan
  • Responsible for GRS planning related measures
  • Facilitate planning meetings as required
  • Develop standard plans and maintain library
  • Initiate the review of plan performance for continuous improvement of the planning process
Qualifications
  • Maintenance and/or Project experience in a multi-discipline working environment
  • Technical background and/or diploma would be considered an asset
  • Field craft experience or equivalent
  • Awareness of live plant work constraints
  • Knowledge of planning process, procedures and tools
  • Working knowledge of Company's computerized planning systems and software
  • Understanding of and stewards all the key processes that support maintenance
  • Ability to understand and react with diverse groups and operations
  • Credibility to set high standards and promote continuous improvement for the corporation
  • Planning aptitude - the ability to optimize work and break it down into logical detailed steps
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work under pressure in an environment which expects the highest levels of customer services, confidentiality and ethical behavior
  • Teamwork skills and behaviors, which support team based behaviors
