Salary/Benefits:  $24.45 - $31.78 per hour

*In addition to a competitive rate of pay, AHS currently has a Fort McMurray Allowance in place to an annual maximum of $12,480. This allowance is non-pensionable and is payable on an hourly basis for all hours paid at the basic rate of pay.

Responsibilities/Duties:

Meet as required with families with children ages birth to 6 years in their homes to provide healthy family services.  Services include determining eligibility and/or community linkage, providing parenting support and child development information, assisting in strengthening parent-child relationships and reducing risks associated with abuse and neglect using a range of intervention and adult education approaches.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Complete growth and development assessments and follow up as required
  • Maintain professional accountability
  • Provide anticipatory guidance for clients
  • Build and maintain relationships with multi-displinary team
  • Provide education to partners and clients
  • Group presentations as required
Qualifications:
  • Two Year Diploma in Early Childhood Development or related field from an accredited college or university
  • Minimum two years experience involved with care/services to families with young children
  • Knowledge of infant and child development
  • Experience and willingness to work with culturally diverse communities/participants
  • Ability to establish positive working relationships
  • Time management, record keeping, interpersonal problem solving and listening skills
  • Computer skills including the ability to utilize work processing (Outlook and Excel)
  • Demonostrated ability to exercise professional judgment in an independent practice setting
  • Demonstrated communication, organizational; consulative and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work both independently and as a team member in an interdisciplinary environment
Additional Information:
  • Vehicle Required - Required to provide a vehicle for business use; along with acceptable driver's abstract and proof of business insurance
  • Driver's License Required
  • Travel Required
