Chairperson
Suncor Educational Technology Centre
Keyano College is currently seeking an experienced team leader to assume the position of Chair of the Suncor Educational Technology Centre (SETC). This full-time permanent position will commence August 11, 2008.
Reporting to the Director, Library and Education Resources you will provide leadership to the SETC department including planning, budgeting, and the supervision of faculty and staff. As the chair, you will be responsible for providing services to faculty including: professional development activities such as Professional Educator's Orientation, Leadership Development programs, instructional design support and guidance on incorporating technology in learning and teaching. You will also mentor faculty in classroom management, course organization, and curriculum design. You will have knowledge of current trends and best practices in pedagogy and educational technology and provide leadership to implement these at Keyano. This position will also supervise staff members that are responsible for the College's learning management system, staff training and media services.
QUALIFICATIONS: Master's Degree in Adult Education Technology or equivalent and 5 years' instructional experience in an adult learning environment where you have successfully integrated technology with teaching; demonstrated knowledge of curriculum design, best practices in teaching methodologies, and educational technologies. The ideal candidate will possess superb communication skills (written and oral), and the ability to work well in a team environment as well as independently. Supervisory experience is preferred.
SALARY: Based on experiential and educational qualifications, plus an annual Chairperson's allowance.
