FRONT OF HOUSE/VOLUNTEER MANAGER
10 Month On-Going Position

Keyano Theatre in Fort McMurray, Alberta is looking for a highly motivated individual in the area of front of house and volunteer management. This is a permanent, 10 month, part-time position commencing August 15, 2008. This position will work approximately 20 hours per week.
Under the direction of the Theatre/Arts Centre Manager, the Front of House/Volunteer Manager will manage the Front of House functions for all publicly attended events in the Theatre/Arts Centre, including the hiring, training and supervision of part-time employees. These functions include all aspects of patron safety, coat check, bar and merchandise inventory management, and lobby event supervision. The Volunteer Management part of the position includes volunteer recruitment, training, supervision and database/rewards management. The candidate will undertake many aspects of the position in consultation and cooperation with the other Theatre staff.
QUALIFICATIONS: The successful candidate will possess a diploma from an accredited institution (possibly Volunteer Management or Arts Administration), with a minimum of 2 years' experience in the workplace and a valid Class 5 driver's license. Customer Service experience that involves a high degree of communication with the public, proactive problem solving in high pressure situations, conflict resolution, and a high volume multitasking is essential. Strong computer skills and experience with staff supervision is required. Experience and comfort with money handling. Experience as a volunteer and supervising volunteers is beneficial. A good understanding and knowledge of theatre operations, and the safety procedures essential to a well-managed theatre are an asset. An excellent sense of humor and the ability to work with a variety of clients in a diverse, fast-paced environment is essential for this position. Standard First Aid and WHIMIS certification are required but may be gained on the job.
SALARY: $2115.00 per month plus an attractive benefits package including a generous annual paid vacation.
